Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results; this site does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained so our team can answer it. We do not disclose the message beyond our organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the site may automatically receive technical information about the visit:
- Page-view timestamps
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- A referring website, when one is available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, such as popular pages and common exit points. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing and correcting technical problems
- Operating the site and maintaining page speed
- Routing a search request to the selected partner service
- Measuring which pages are useful and which need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
This site neither maintains nor sells a database of personal criminal records. It explains how records held by the Calloway County Sheriff, jail, Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, and Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry may be accessed. Visitor information is not assembled into third-party dossiers or consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, rather than this policy, govern information submitted to those tools. Because each partner sets its own retention and disclosure practices, review the applicable policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky Court of Justice, KSP, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal details.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select targeted advertisements.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing queries submitted to their tools
- Advertising networks serving material on site pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security measures are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide additional rights based on where you live. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs access to records held by public agencies; it is not a privacy code for this private site. Kentucky criminal-history dissemination and withholding rules, including KRS 17.150 and KRS 61.878, govern official records in their stated contexts rather than visitor analytics here. You may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete your personal information
- Honor an available opt-out from certain processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A changed version will appear on this page with its new effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
